Against all the odds, Croydon’s community sector has gone from strength to strength in recent years, helping people become more independent, connected and active in their communities. Innovation and enterprise are thriving across the borough, but at a grassroots and neighbourhood level, funding pressures continue to present challenges. More support is needed to help local organisations continue delivering the invaluable work that makes a real difference to people’s lives.
That is where the Croydon Community Grants programme comes in – a small grants programme with a difference. We want to fund you twice!
The fund first launched in 2024 and has supported local groups delivering essential services within the community.
Our aim this year is to support projects that address some of the key priorities facing local communities. To start off, we’ll be inviting applications for grants of up to £1,000 – enough to make a real difference to groups starting a new activity or scaling up existing work. We expect to award approximately 15 grants.
After that, successful applicants will have the opportunity to apply for a second round of funding of up to £5,000 in 2027, helping to put their activities on a more solid footing and increase their impact.
We particularly want to fund:
- Activities and opportunities for young people
- Projects supporting people experiencing homelessness or living in temporary accommodation
- Initiatives that help improve safety and security, particularly for women and girls
The grant can be used to support a wide range of costs, including equipment, events, space hire and programme delivery.
Applications for grants will:
- Open on 13 July 2026
- Close on 17 August 2026
- Successful applicants notified on 7 September 2026
- Projects commence from 14 September 2026
Bonus
Successful applicants will also have the opportunity to access support from Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield employees, with guidance available across areas including marketing, finance, legal and health & safety.
