or two weeks, starting Monday 2nd March 2026, 147 classes from 26 primary schools in Croydon will visit their local Waterstones in the Whitgift Centre to celebrate World Book Day. Pupils will have the opportunity to spend their World Book Day voucher on a book and be treated to a story read to them by a local author. Though these events, Waterstones Croydon and the authors aim to encourage reading and inspire future storytellers.

We will also have a SEND morning hosted by Every Cherry the accessible reading publisher welcoming 3 classes from SEN schools and 7 Enhanced Learning Provisions classes from local primary schools.
Throughout the two weeks we will have a small gallery of 8 chairs at the back of the storytelling area for members of the public.
